Hey Humble Readers...
Geez... I was feeling fine over the weekend, but here I am again with a scratchy throat, plugged ears, and aching sinuses. It's like the crud just started all over again. Summer colds suck, big time.
Anyway, let's see. What's been happening around here...
****
Weight loss has totally plateaued. Part of the problem is that with the crud I haven't felt like getting up early for my walks, and when I do, I can only manage a part of my usual distance. Another part of the problem is that I've been eating things I shouldn't just because they make me "feel better" (only in the moment, then I feel even worse after). I'm trying not to get discouraged. I will get over this stupid cold, and I will be able to get back on track soon.
*****
We had a long weekend last weekend, and spent most of it with my Beloved's family. His oldest brother and older sister are in from Little Town Far Away, and so there was a lot of food, card games, and laughing. I have to say, my Beloved's family is so strange to me. They get together and there's absolutely no drama. They like each other. All of them. Crazy, right?
*****
My favourite plus size clothing store (not that I have a whole lot of choice here in the Shire) had a one day sale on bras on Saturday. Because I swear half of the weight I've lost is from my boobs, I was in desperate need of new bras again. I'm down a full band and cup size, two band sizes on the sports bra I bought. I managed to get four bras (a couple of them are really rather sexy too!) for $100! That's amazing for me.
*****
My mom is supposed to be passing through the Shire on Sunday, so I may get to meet her new beau. That's just so weird to say. In other family drama news, Mom and the Douchewaffle (formerly known as Dad) have a court date at the end of September to finally settle this whole divorce mess. Thank Heaven!
*****
I have a small conundrum with my addiction to the television. The third season of Game of Thrones is going to be aired (on a Canadian network) starting at the end of the month. Problem: I have yet to watch season 2 because I'm #16 on the wait list at the library. Thankfully, they have 3 copies, so the list is going quicker than I originally anticipated. I may record season three just so that I have it, and don't have to wait for the library to get season 3 (sometime next spring). That's just a lot of space on my pvr. Hmmm...
*****
I'm planning on painting the bathroom and the hallway in a couple of weeks. I've been trying to psych myself up for this for a while now, but it's time. We've lived with a shmegly green bathroom for more than five years. I need to make a change in there.
*****
I've been reading a fair bit lately. I read Perks of Being a Wallflower (awesome!) and The Honest Toddler (not so great... was really funny at first, but got old quick). Now I'm rereading The Help, with Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Café and Mistress of My Fate on deck.
*****
Toothache warning... sweetness ahead! Playing in the wading pool at my Beloved's brother's house yesterday.
While I might not be a hobbit genetically, I do believe that I am one culturally. A homebody at heart, with a fear of (but slight craving for) adventure, who values simple things like good food, good books, and good friends. Chronicling the journey of the unlikely pairing of a Hobbit and an Ent, who have travelled down the road through infertility & RPL, toward building our family. We've come a long way, and now with two precious wee-lings in tow, our road goes ever on and on...

Hobbit-ish Potpurri: Winter Doldrums
Happy Valentine's Day Humble Readers...
Well, it's happened again. Nary a word from me since Sunday night... what's going on here? I have a dozen blog posts rattling around in my head, but they just don't seem to want to exit through the ends of my fingers.
*****
The snow in the Shire is slowly melting. We've had snow on the ground since before Halloween, so I'm not at all sad to see it go. That's not to say that the weather has been nice, far from it. Yes we've had sunny skies, but we have constantly been rocked by wind all week. I love the effects of a Chinook wind, but I'm not a fan of the wind itself.
*****
I broke down and watched the season finale of Downton Abbey the other day. I'm not going to give anything away, I promise, but I do have to say I'm pissed. Seriously, the whole evening after I watched it I was MAD. It's going to be a long wait until next January for season 4.
*****
Weight-loss update: I'm plateaued again. I'm down 24.5 pounds, which is awesome. But I'm stuck again. I'm a little bit concerned because I inevitably gain weight when we go to K-town. Mostly because of all the wine we consume when my mom, sister and I are together.
*****
I'm happy with how my super-fake King Cakes turned out for Mardi Gras. I'm not much of a baker, so the real deal was rather out of reach for me to attempt, but I wanted to have a special "zert" as Ginny called it. So, this is what I made...
Pretty simple really. Crescent rolls (in a tube), filled with a bit of nu.tella, then topped with a simple glaze and sprinkles in the colors of Mardi Gras... purple, gold, and green.
*****
So, it's Valentine's Day. A pretty important day in the hobbit hole. Today is the 7th anniversary of when my Beloved and I were matched on eHarm.ony. I always try to do something special for dinner, and when it's in the budget we do try to go out at some point around V-day. This year's special dinner is New York strip steaks, double-stuffed twice-baked taters, oven roasted asparagus, sautéed mushrooms and onions, and cheesecake for dessert. Things are well in process at this point, and I'm planning on leaving some time between when Ginny gets up from her nap and when my Beloved comes home to have Ginny make a card for her daddy.
*****
I'm hoping to squeeze some time in tomorrow for Pippin's 9 month post. I'm already a few days late, and I want to get it out there. How is it that he's been on the outside for as long as he was on the inside already??? When Ginny was this age, Pippin was conceived. Wow.

Hobbit-ish Potpurri: Winter Friggin' Wonderland
Hey Humble Readers...
It is still cold in the Shire, but at least not as cold as what it has been the last couple of days. It snowed for two days straight, and we are expecting more snow tonight. I understand that I live on the frozen flatland, and that snow, cold, and wind are synonymous with a Canadian prairie winter, but this feels like it has been dragging on and on. January and February are always the hardest months.
*****
I have a quandary before me. I love Downton Abbey (you hadn't figured that out yet, had you?). My Beloved got me all three seasons on dvd for Christmas, and season three arrived yesterday. I love having Sunday nights as my Downton night, but I'm finding it hard not to toss that dvd into the player right now and binge on the rest of the season. I love the anticipation as I wait for each new episode, but part of me is screaming for that instant gratification. What would you do?
BTW, last Sunday's episode? Yup, I was a wreck. Totally gutted. And my Beloved just sat there laughing at me.
*****
Humble Readers, I hesitate to bring this up, but it is the pressing issue on my mind and body this week. I will warn you that it's very tmi, but really, after all the IF stuff, I'm not shy about talking about my lady parts. At least not here. You have been warned.
I have a yeast infection. My first. Ever. And let me just tell you, this shit sucks! I am uncomfortable. I am grumpy. And who the hell said that any part of the female anatomy, let alone the lady bits, are allowed to burn and itch like that? I didn't sign up for this. I. DID. NOT. SIGN. UP. FOR. THIS!!! I caught myself daydreaming about steel wool. It's time to go to the pharmacy.
*****
In other body news... I have busted through my 19.6lb plateau! Yay! I am now officially 22lb down. I'm going shopping again this weekend (I can because I have a coupon to one of my favourite clothing stores - spend $80 save 50%) because now the only pants that fit me are the two pairs of jeans I bought at the end of December. My next major target is to be what I weighed when my Beloved and I got married. That means another 14 pounds. And if I can do it by our anniversary in April, that would be an added bonus... a little more than 10 weeks. I think that's doable.
*****
Pippin is having a rough day exploring his surroundings. He's trying hard to really crawl (rather than army crawl), but he keeps on ending up under the coffee table and bonking his little noggin. I'm hoping to get some video of him trying to crawl, because really it is just too funny. More often than not, he ends up doing a face plant into the carpet.

Hobbit-ish Potpurri: This, That & The Other
Hey Humble Readers...
As promised, this here is a post that has absolutely nothing to do with mummy-hood, babies, breastfeeding, or sleep schedules. Instead you're going to get a bunch of the randomness that's been going through my head over the last couple of weeks.
*****
I'm hoping to resurrect the Foodie Friday posts again sometime soon. I haven't been doing a whole lot of scratch cooking lately, but I did make the most incredible pork roast last weekend. Of course, I didn't think to take any pics of it, but it was beautiful and it tasted heavenly. And it was super easy... salt & pepper a pork loin roast and roast in a hot oven (425F) for about a half hour. Remove from oven, and lower oven temp to 350F. Spread grainy dijon mustard over the whole roast. Press a generous amount of brown sugar into mustard (all over) and return to oven, until a meat thermometer reads 165F (it took about an hour). Baste with drippings often. Don't forget to allow the roast to rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with drippings when serving.

I have confessed here before that I watch way too much tv. But I have to say, the thing that could cure me of the habit is this summer's line-up of trashy reality tv. The commercials are actually making me kind of sick with all the pseudo-match-making shows and Gor.don Ram.say crap (and you all know I LOVE cooking shows... I just can't stand him!). Why can't they just run re-runs? The joys of having ultra limited cable.
*****
Am I the only person who is intrigued by Snow White & The Huntsman? Or at least, I am until I remember that Kri.sten Ste.wart is playing the lead. The trailer looks great, I'm just not sure that I could handle a couple hours of her acting. I also really want to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Rock of Ages, The Dark Knight Rises, and the Odd Life of Timothy Green. What's on your must see list for summer movies?
*****
I'm getting that urge to re-read Harry Potter again. It's totally a summer thing. As soon as the weather turns warm, I want to delve into the world of wizards and muggles. It's kind of like the urge I get in the fall to read Tolkien. I'm happy to say that I am experiencing a bit of an increase in my interest and ability to read again. All through last fall and winter, I didn't have the focus to read more than a couple pages at a time. I actually ordered a new book the other day, and I also finished reading a book written by a friend that I'm hoping to review for you all soon.
*****
You know you're anal retentive when you spend a couple of hours reorganizing one of your pin boards on Pinterest. I had a sort of catch-all board that had a lot of miscellaneous things in it that had gotten a little out of hand. So last night, I went through the whole thing and made a couple of new boards. I really am an addict. Oh, and while I'm discussing Pinterest can I vent a serious pet peeve? It drives me crazy when people pin pictures of food/recipes and just put "Yum" or "I must make this soon" in the comment section. Dang it, tell me what it is! LOL.
*****
Well, I'm fading here. I'm going to try to catch a bit of a nap while it's quiet in the hobbit hole. Do you have any fantastic plans for the weekend? We're going to the farmer's market tomorrow, and I'm planning on doing the grocery shopping ALL BY MYSELF! I'm super stoked to get an hour or so just to be out on my own.

W is For... William
Greetings Humble Readers...
I hope you're all doing well today. Things here on the flatland are wet and rainy, but that's not so bad. They're predicting snow for tomorrow which is bothersome on many levels, but I'm praying that it's the true end of winter. When I was walking home from my NST appointment the other day I definitely saw crocus and tulip greens poking through in some of the neighbourhood gardens, so that means that spring will have to come eventually, right?
We're getting close to the end of the A to z challenge, and the closer to the end we get, the harder it is becoming for me to find fictional characters to talk about. But thankfully, today wasn't so tough. I want to tell you about my favourite victorian-era Canadian detective... William Murdoch (not to be confused with the captain of the Titanic by the same name).

William Murdoch is a detective associated with the Toronto Constabulary in the 1890s. He's remarkably well read, scientifically minded man, with a analytical bent that would do the most Grissom-like CSI proud. His trusty sidekick, Constable Crabtree is a great foil to Murdoch's seriousness.
I confess that I do tend to get aspects of Murdoch from the books by Maureen Jennings a little confused with the Murdoch from the tv show, as I started watching the show before I ever read any of the books. The tv version does seem to play up the primitive forensics a heck of a lot more than the books do, but the books add a fascinating internal perspective on the workings of Murdoch's mind.
I love the victorian setting, the forward thinking characters who are still bound within the cultural confines of their time, and the fact that it is a Canadian series that celebrates what Canada was in that time and place.
Who's your favourite fictional detective?

V is For... Violet
Howdy Humble Readers!
After getting only half of my to do list done today, I'm off to go do some crafting with some friends. I really am not letting myself feel bad about not getting to cleaning the bathroom today (it will still be there tomorrow) or working on Ginny's babybook (it will be there tomorrow, too). I have finally decided what I'm going to do with Ginny's toys, and that was half of the issue there. Tomorrow, it will be put in place!
But, before I head off to my friend Sira's place for some grown up girl talk, I need to tell you about my V fictional character. Again, I've struggled with coming up with someone. I could have gone with multiple Harry Potter characters (Voldemort, Viktor Krum, Vincent Crabbe), but they didn't inspire me. I've never identified with Veronica from the Archie comics. I even considered Virgil Tibbs from In The Heat Of The Night, but I had to read that one in 8th grade, and I hated it.
So what is a girl to do?
She cops out, that's what.
Today, I give you Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham. The best of the best edwardian bad-asses. (For those of you who haven't watched Downton Abbey, why the hell not???? It's only the best show ever!)
I love how Violet preserves this aura of decorum and propriety, when really she's just a mean old biddy who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's the queen of the one-liner, and she can put the most uppity politician or military man in his place. She's fiercely protective of her family, even when she's tearing them a new one in private.
I adore the balance between Violet and Cousin Isobel (Matthew's mother). They constantly are doing battle, and you really never know who's going to win.
She's a biotch and makes no bones about it. She says the things we all wish we could get away with saying.
Who's your favourite fictional biotch?

Q is For... Q (And a Request For Input)
Hey Humble Readers...
Today was not nearly as productive as I would have liked. I only got half of my to do list for the day done... and none of the big stuff. *sigh* I ended up sleeping for the entire two and a half hours that Ginny napped this morning. I guess I've been pushing it a bit hard.
So, we're up to Q in the A to z Challenge... and I wracked my brain. Surely to goodness I have read sometime, somewhere a book with a character with a name that starts with Q, but I am totally at a loss.
And so I am copping out. Instead of a 'book' fictional character, I'm going to use a tv/movie fictional character. And really there is only one Q...
But I'm sure if you've never watched any of the newer Star Trek permutations, then you probably don't know who I'm talking about. He is, quite possibly, my favourite Star Trek character of all time. And yes, his name is Q.
Actually, he is one of many Qs. He, and all the others like him called Q, are omnipotent, godlike, and, for lack of a better term, are all shit-disturbers. They like to create trouble and see how lesser beings deal with it. Think Loki, combined with Puck, with the arrogance of Zeus thrown in for good measure.
As I said, a shit-disturber of the highest order. He would infuriate and confound the straight-laced captains and their crews. But he always managed to get them to think outside the box... to look at a situation in a different way. He's funny, so long as you're not his current target, and, at the same time, empowering.
*****
I need some input. I made a commitment to myself this year that we would eat meat-free at least once a week. So far, it's been pretty simple. Pastas, soups, enchiladas... I can make all of those well, and I'm happy with them.
But I'm bored. And throw in the fact that spring is here... I want something new. Something different.
For those of you who do the meat-free thing more regularly, what other kinds of things do you cook in the warmer months? My Beloved and I aren't big into tofu, we are more like your typical prairie meat and potatoes type of people.
I want something that tastes good, that's satisfying, and that doesn't cost more than meat to make. Any suggestions?

Hobbit-ish Potpurri: Winter Strikes Back
Hey Humble Readers...
I hope you are all warm and cozy, tucked into your own little hobbit-holes. Here on the flatland winter has again reared its ugly head. It's not particularly cold, but it's been snowing all day. It's not our normal type of February snow (icy and dry), it's really more like the snow we get in the spring, in April or May (wet and heavy). I had plans for us to spend some time outside tomorrow, but I think we might skip that as I'm sure that it's going to be a sloppy wet mess everywhere.
*****
I don't know what was wrong with me tonight as I cooked dinner. All sorts of crazy things went wrong. My timing was all off on everything, and somehow I managed to let the potatoes boil dry... ugh, what a mess. I was making yorkshire puddings and I tried a new recipe that called for butter in the pan rather than oil, and I should have known better. At the high temp in the oven, of course the butter burned. The house is still full of smoke.
*****
To add insult to injury, we had a minor catastrophe during dinner. We were eating at tv trays in the living room (a common thing, I'm ashamed to admit) and while I was cutting a piece of meat, my tray decided to give way entirely. Of course, I had a full glass of iced tea (sugar free, naturally) that went everywhere. *sigh* Well, I had been planning on having the carpets steam cleaned before Easter...
*****
In other news, I finally got around to doing my 24 hour urine collection (how's that for a subject change?). I started it on Friday morning, not thinking that my Beloved and I had planned to go to a movie that evening (my Beloved had arranged a sitter as a bit of a Valentine's surprise for me). Being out for dinner and a movie, and having far too much to drink at both, made it very difficult to not mess up that stupid urine collection. It also made for some fast talking at the sitter's house when we picked up Ginny. I mean, how do you explain to someone that you have to pee like a racehorse, but that you have to pee at home?
*****
The movie we saw, "This Means War", was fantastic! I haven't laughed so much in ages! It hasn't had a lot of promotion from what I can see, but it is totally worth seeing. And the eye candy in it (Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) was certainly an added bonus!
*****
Good news for our congregation... the pastor who we voted to call (offer the position to) has accepted. He and his family will be here sometime in May.
*****
I'm on pins and needles. The season finale for Downton Abbey is due to start in just a few minutes. I'm so anxious to see where they leave things with Mr. Bates and with Lady Mary & Matthew. I have to say, I absolutely adore the clothes ant the romance of the era. I know it wasn't all beautiful like it is in shows like this, and at best I would have been a cook in a manor house like that (if not a simple scullery maid), but it's just so lovely.

Bloggity Summer Camp: The Question that Stumped Me
Howdy... Hey... Greetings Humble Readers... (I've been here so much today, I can't remember which greetings I've used, sorry!)
Three posts in one day! Hokey dinah balonafish! What's going on here? Well, between it being Ginny's 8 month un-birthday and discovering that Kym is hosting 'Sock It To Me' again and Bloggity Summer Camp... well, just a lot happening today. And it all must be read... so scroll down and I'll wait. Just make sure to come back up here. 'Kay? Go!
Waiting...
Waiting...
Waiting...
Checking my watch...
Whistling...
Back yet?
Hello?
Anyone?
Beuller? Beuller?
Ok... so Bloggity Summer Camp. Calliope's question today has honestly stumped me. "Which movies or tv shows do you think are the most accurate portrayals of your life? If you could write the next scene of your day what would it be?"
I don't know. Maybe a little bit of "You've Got Mail" and a little of the "Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood" with a little bit of "Everybody Loves Raymond" thrown in for good measure.
The next scene of my day? One of those heart-warming scenes where the parents stand at the doorway of the nursery and get those cheesy grins as they watch their baby sleep, and then maybe one of those married couple scenes where the couple is in bed, her with the green goop on her face and him doing a crossword puzzle. That's about it.
In reality, it will probably be doing a bit of tidying up, watching America's Got Talent, feeding the wee girl again at 11 and then maybe reading a few minutes before unconciousness takes me.
And now, it's safe to say, I'm all blogged out... see you tomorrow!

Hobbit-ish Potpurri: Procrastination
Good Evening Humble Readers!
I should be doing the dishes or dusting my oh-so-messy house, but I wanted to just come and hang out here for a bit. No one tell on me, k?
*****
Breastfeeding isn't all rainbows and daisies yet... we've only had a couple of successful attempts at home, but things are trucking along. The hardest part is getting her into a comfortable position for the both of us, especially when my Beloved isn't here to lend a hand. She's also had some 'spit up' issues over the last few days. Because it happens with both breastmilk and formula equally, I think it's more a case of her over-eating... she's like a little goldfish, I swear! She just overfills the tank and it's gotta go somewhere right? It almost always happens when I'm burping her.
*****
My mat leave benefits have FINALLY kicked in, so we are no longer as desperate financially as we were. I think I may have to do battle to get my money for October, but things are looking up in that part of life.
*****
Weight loss has slowed immensely, but that's okay. I'm bouncing between two numbers that are still below where I was when we got married almost four years ago.
*****
I am at a huge loss as to what to get my Beloved for Christmas. I have a few small things for him, but what I really want to get him is not in the budget just now. Any ideas?
*****
I have a new favourite tv commercial. It makes me giggle like a 8 year old...
Way too cute, right?
*****
A question... did any of you mommas out there find that your skin changed during pregnancy? I have always had oily/shiny skin, but since about halfway through the second trimester to now (and it's gotten worse since Ginevra's arrival) my skin has been crazy dry and rough.
*****
Gotta run, the wee one is squawking.

Blog Challenge Day 3: My Favourite Television Show
Good Morning Humble Readers!
Confession time! Your friendly neighbourhood hobbit is a tv junkie (really, were you surprised?). I don't have a favourite show, but I do watch a lot of one particular type of show. And they all have something in common. Let's see if you can guess...
Got it figured out yet?
That's right, humble readers... I have a thing for shows that feature very sexy law enforcement officers! Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Bones, CSI:NY just to name a few. Yum!
Okay, I gotta run now... we have our second prenatal class today. Enjoy your Satuday!

Truth In Advertising
Good Afternoon Humble Readers...
This post is just a little bit of an irrational gripe.
Those infomercial hosts/tv huxters just drive me around the bend. Bi.lly May.es' voice used to be enough to make me leave the room. That Vince guy with the onion chopper... totally aggravating... And don't get me started on the Sn.uggie.
But today I saw the worst advertisment ever starring one of those huxters. It's got that guy with the British accent and it's for a drain snake. Yes, I see the value in having something like that around the house and that at some point in my future I might actually purchase one, but do they need to show the nasty manky clump of gooky hair coming up out of the drain? Repeatedly? Just the thought of that makes me want to gag on my best day... but on a day when I'm battling to keep down the crackers and water I'm living on... YUCK! We all know what clogs drains, and we know what it looks like when it comes out.
Ok, rant over...
(I think I need to go back and lie down before I use too many more elipsis)

Show & Tell: My New Favourite Commercial
Good afternoon, Humble Readers...
Ok, so this is a rather lame Show & Tell, but this commercial makes me laugh so hard (we're talking snorts here)... It brightens my day just seeing it.
I love when 'she' says pothole.
Do you have a favourite tv commercial? One that makes you laugh so hard you could spray milk out of your nose?
Now don't forget to stop by Mel's place to check out what the rest of the class is showing!

Be Still My Heart!
Good evening Humble Readers! (Two posts in one day! Who knew I had it in me!)
So, this Hobbit's fantasy/sci-fi loving heart is all aflutter! I just finished watching the pilot episode of 'V'. I loved it!
I remember the 'V' mini-series from back in the 80s. I remember not being allowed to watch it, but sneaking out of my bedroom to hide behind the couch while my parents watched it. I remember being freaked out big time by a woman giving birth to twins, one looked human but had a forked tongue and the other was full out lizard-person.
Tonight's episode was fun and freaky all at the same time. It was so good that I actually forgot about the chicken I was roasting.
Any new shows this fall that have you totally stoked?

How could you, Bones?
Hello humble readers...
Well, I believe I've turned a corner with the Crud. I'm pooped, tuckered, and generally wiped out, but breathing is much easier today. I am at the point where I'm sure that if my ears would just pop all would be pretty much well. Thank you all so much for your kind words and warm thoughts this week.
So, in my drug induced stupor this week I have spent most of my time curled up on our couch with my fuzzy blankets, multiple boxes of triscuits (to scratch my throat), strawberry popcicles, tissues, and industrial size jugs of OJ. I haven't been able to read because I can't seem to focus on the words on the page (which has also contributed to me being a bad bloggy-friend this week too, so sorry everyone!), so of course I have been watching waaaaay too much tv. Star Trek, Rachel Ray, various home improvement shows, and of course CSI (because it's on EVERYWHERE!) have all filled my hours.
Last night, when I was beginning to feel slightly human again, I got very excited because I realized that I was actually going to get to watch Bones. I have always loved that show, but with my work schedule and the changes in the show's time slot, I haven't gotten to watch it all that often this year. So, I settled into the cushions, ready to enjoy a good and disgusting episode of dead bodies and the sexual tension between Booth and Bones.
The episode started off encouragingly. An extremely decomposed dead body in a wine cask. Fabulously gross! I actually had to turn away a few times. Okay, so cut to the obligatory relationship part of the show... Booth and Bones in Dr. Sweets' office for their weekly therapy session. And what does Bones say? 'I want to have a baby.'
The long and the short of it is... Bones decides she want to have a baby, but doesn't want the baggage of the 'ephemeral emotions' that go with doing things the old fashioned way. She, in her usual tactless, clueless way, tells Booth that she wants to have his baby because he is the ideal breeding partner. They then go through the whole bit about does he want to have a baby but not be the daddy... the whole time assuming that it's a given that she will get pregnant. At one point she even says 'I could be pregnant in a month'.
Not even taking into account that she has only decided that she wants to do this yesterday (in tv-land), apparently she was already able to get in to a fertility specialist, has been ok'd for IVF, had Booth drop off his sample, had it analyzed (28 million, and he was proud... ha! some of my friends' hubbies in the blogosphere can beat that without trying!) and found out that he has good motility. At the rate she was going, I was just waiting for the shot of her walking out of the bathroom at the Jeffersonian with a positive hpt at the end of the show.
Talk about trivializing ART! I was so disgusted! I know that there is an overriding assumption out there that IVF is an 'easy' option, but come on! I have always been so impressed with that tv show... entertaining and yet nasty crime drama... lots of pseudo-science to keep me intrigued... but this just totally irked me! And I've never even gone through IUI or IVF. I was so offended, for myself as an infertile, and for all my friends who struggle month after month with this battle.
Shame on you, Bones! Shame on you!
(yes, I realize that it's just a tv show... but it still really bothered me)
