A Little Low... But Respectable ** UPDATED **

At 19 dpo my beta number - 269

Not exactly as high as I would like but not low enough to cause me to stress out.

DocU wants me to repeat the test in two weeks.  I pick up the requisition tomorrow.  Here's the thing, he's going away for two weeks.  So, if I wait the full two weeks to go for the blood work, I won't be able to find out the results until the end of April.

I'm thinking, if I go for the bloodwork at the beginning of next week, that will put me at 10 days since my last test, and I should be able to get the results before he goes on vacation.

Honestly, I'd like to go for another blood test tomorrow, but I will wait if that's what he wants.

I will not worry.  I will not stress.  I am going to enjoy this pregnancy.

UPDATE: I just got a call from my GP's office.  DocB wants to see me tomorrow.  Now I'm more than a little nervous.  The nurse said that it's as a follow-up as requested from DocU, to discuss further treatment (?!?!).  Maybe DocB will send me for a repeat on the bloodwork sooner.

Please pray that I can chill out for the rest of the day... and sleep tonight.

  1. I agree...if you're doctor's happy with the results, you should be try to accept that (as best you can) and be happy also. It's a good number and is within normal range.

I'm with you though, as I give you this advice. I'm 19DPO and I just got my 2nd HCG result today...280. I spent too much time googling today but I am also trying not to stress and to enjoy this as much as possible.

Is there another doctor that could monitor your results if you repeat it in two weeks?

  4. You are well within a normal range. Remember that higher isn't necessarily "safer". Being in the normal range is what you want, as well as that number multiplying. Your next bloodwork will be more telling...but, gosh, 2 weeks is not an easy time to wait. I think as a nervous mother you have good case to ask your doctor for a test sooner than that.

Keep us updated and, as always, I am praying, praying, praying for your peace and happiness.

  7. You were actually only 18 DPO, not 19 on Friday so 269 is actually EXACTLY on target for 18 DPO. check out this page: http://babymed.com/Tools/Pregnancy/hCG/Default.aspx Plug in your number for 18 DPO and then fake a doubled number for 2 days later and you'll see it's exactly in the middle. Good luck!

  13. Praying right along with everyone else and keeping you in my thoughts. Perhaps a nice cup of chamomile tea and a cuddle from DH? That always chills me out when I'm anxious. Don't worry about the visit they requested tomorrow, I'm sure it's just to follow up on your care. I will be checking on you!
