Monday Snapshot: Tired

Howdy Humble Readers...

Again, I'm late to the party.  **sigh**  I have a good reason though!

We did it.  We bit the bullet.  Pippin slept in the nursery with Ginny last night.   Well, sleep might be overstating things a bit, but it was a big step.

Things didn't go all that well.  I think it was actually a perfect storm of a bad day.

Ginny ended up going to bed early last night because she was sick, grumpy, and really just a bear (she's been refusing to nap lately, and is back to removing her diaper in protest).  I went to bed early to read.  My Beloved stayed up to give Pippin his usual dream feed at around 11.  After the bottle, a diaper change, and jammies, it was TIME.  My Beloved wrapped him in his swaddle bag and took him into the nursery.

Pip woke up just as he was being laid down in the crib, so he needed to suck on his fist to help him go back to sleep.  He doesn't exactly do this quietly.  He sounds like a saint bernard with a particularly juicy bone.

Ginny woke up.  Angry.

Long story short, my night was spent sitting on the couch in the dark with alternating children until they both fell asleep.  By that time, I figured that it wouldn't be long until Pip woke up to be fed, so I would stay awake.  Ha ha.  I dozed off, and woke 20 minutes later to his very angy hungry cry, and Ginny standing in her crib pointing at him saying, "Baby cwyin'.  Baby loud."  I managed to get her settled again pretty quick and was able to feed Pip.  By this time it was after 4am, so I laid him down in the bassinett in the living room, and I crashed on the couch.

He woke up again at 6.

Ginny 'reading' to Pippin.
It took us a while to get dressed this morning.
Today was better, simply by virtue of both of the wee-lings taking good solid naps because they were so tired.  I caught about 20 minutes of a snooze this afternoon.

Pippin was so tired at dinner-time tonight, that I had a funny mummy-fail moment.  While the three of us eat dinner, Pip usually hangs out in his bassinett, but that didn't seem to be doing it for him tonight.  So my Beloved moved him over to his jumper/exerciser thingy.  And this is what happened...

Yup, that's my wee little mister, fast asleep.

Hopefully, tonight will be better.  We'll see.  It's a process of getting them used to sleeping in the same room, right?

  2. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! That picture is so incredibly sweet. <3 I just want to kiss his sweet little head.

We are struggling with sleep issues around here, too. I haven't been as good about getting him in his own crib because he's my last child and I'm having those "This is the last time I get to snuggle with a baby..." *sniff* feelings which cause me to lay in bed in the middle of the night and stare at him instead of getting the sleep I so desperately need.

    Soon, though. Soon.

    Sigh.
