May ICLW - True Confessions

Howdy Humble Readers...

I honestly didn't mean to leave such a gap of time between my last post and this one.  Every day I thought about posting, but of course we all know what thought did.  Anyway, I've decided to pull my head out of my butt and join in with ICLW this month, in hopes of maybe finding my bloggity mojo again.

I thought for this month's ICLW intro, I would do some true confessions... nothing earth-shattering, just some random crap about me that I don't think most of you know.  Honestly, it's just a chance for me to talk about me...

1 - I don't use Twitter.  I don't get the point.  But then, I didn't get the point of FB for the longest time, and now I'm a FB junkie.  (BTW, if any of you are on FB and play Gardens of Time, please let me know.  I need more neighbours!!)

2 - I have only recently discovered the wonders of sugar scrubs.  I don't know when these became popular or if they even really are, but I have fallen in love.  I particularly love the ones from Bath & Bo.dy Wor.ks.

3 - I used to dog-ear pages in my books to mark my place (gasp!)

4 - I don't like bacon (the smell of it cooking is nasty) but I regularly put simulated bacon bits on my salad or baked potatoes.

5 - I'm obsessive about cleaning my ears.  I know you shouldn't put anything other than your elbow in your ear, but I keep the cotton swap companies afloat.

6 - I'm honestly not a sports fan of any sort, but I admit I find myself very excited that the Vancouver Canucks are doing so well in the playoffs.  I have actually been enjoying watching the games (but don't any of you dare tell my Beloved!)

7 - I can't keep a plant alive, and yet every year I attempt to grow an herb garden.  Every Year... futility in action!

8 - I have a love hate relationship with socks.  I love me some stripey socks, but I can't handle wearing them for very long.  I much prefer to be barefoot.  (Perhaps it's part of my hobbit heritage?)

9 - I don't hold a pen/pencil like a normal person.  When most people write, they anchor the pen on their middle finger.  When I hold a pen, I anchor it on my ring finger.  This caused my elementary school teachers no end of angst.

10 - I have yet to take down my outdoor Christmas lights this year.  They aren't plugged in or anything, but they are still out there... mocking me...

Okay, I think that's enough totally random crap about me.  If the world doesn't come to an end today, then I will do my best to be back with another post tomorrow.  I do have some marginally interesting things to share with you all.

  1. Love the random post! I am addicted to Zuma on fb lately, so I get what you are saying, lol! Hope you have a lovely long weekend? Any big plans? I just spent the last 2.5 hours in my flower beds whilst getting eaten alive. How are the mosquitos for you guys?

  3. Cool post!

I also am loving "Gardens of Time" on FB and have never Twittered.

I have a callus on my middle finger from the way I hold my pen/pencil.

    DOG EARS? NOOOOOO!!!!!!! :)

  4. Great idea for a ICLW confessions post! I completely agree with you regarding the bacon. I can't stand it when the kitchen smells like a greasy diner. Blech. Though I do love bacon bits on salads.

    Looking forward to reading more.

  5. I love that you're taking so long between posts - it means you're enjoying Ginny <3

I've only recently started to use twitter and even now I just end up kind of using it like a instant messanger and chatting back and forth with people.

I did the same with my books... still do when I read - I have loads of nice bookmarks but I can never find one when I want one.

  6. I'm not a fan of Twitter either. I don't even know why I have an account! Facebook on the other hand.....

I'm not that into sports myself. I didn't know that the Canucks were actually a team. I just thought that it was something they made up for How I Met Your Mother (if you haven't seen it, it's awesome. Robin is from Canada)

  7. Stopping by for my first month of ICLW.

    I have Twitter, but I don't understand it. FB, I "like" a lot. :D
It was fun reading your confessions.

  8. Hi,

Stopping by from ICLW. ((hugs)) to you. ROFL at number 5 on your list 'cause I'm exactly the same. As for the pen thing, as long as it's comfy for you, it goes. :)

Looking forward to getting to know you better.

  12. I only recently discovered Twitter. I was refusing to use it on principle, but after talking with some musicians they told me the best way to keep up with music (or whatever) the best is via twitter because they rarely utilize FB as much, and hardly ever update their official website. So I caved, got an account. But I refuse to have any "friends", it is strictly to keep track of the small bands, artist, writers etc that I really like.

I love cleaning my ears too. I over-produce wax, and have actually had to go see an ear-nose-and-throat doctor every couple of years to clean out the wax build up (and the accumulation of cotton that ends up happening when I use Qtips too often...)

What kind of sport does the Canucks play?

I prefer bare feet myself, but when I have to wear socks I only own multi-colored/fun printed socks. Not a single plain white sock to be found in my drawer. Not only is it just plain ol' fun, but it makes matching my socks really easy, as opposed to trying to match 20 pairs of white socks that each have some tiny subtle differences.

  13. Here for ICLW...love the name of your blog :)

I, too, caused great problems for my teachers by incorrectly holding a pen :)

Hobbits are social creatures, and love hearing from friends old and new. Pull up a comfy chair and let's get to know one another.
