What Are They Smoking?

Good Evening Humble Readers...

Ok, so I'm starting to get pretty excited about baby gear.  I've been holding back, out of a certain level of fear.  But, I'm starting to get past that.

Tonight I started looking for a diaper bag.  I know I don't want a generic Wa.lm.ar.t set  up.  I want something cute, maybe a bit trendy.  Something practical and fun at the same time.

I did some online snooping, and I found this...

Ok, so cute right?  Maybe even beautiful... but can you guess how much it costs?

Go ahead and try... and remember, it's primary purpose is to haul diapers, of both the clean and dirty variety.

Got a number in your head?

Yeah, so it's $400!  (I'll wait for you to get back up on your chair)

Maybe I'm cheap.  Maybe I'm not fashion-forward..  But I think a diaper bag that is almost twice what I paid for the crib... that's just a little exessive.   Back to looking...

  3. Yeah, that's ridiculous. Walmart actually has cute ones, as does kmart. Buy buy baby has an AWESOME line...

  4. My mother bought me a Paul Frank bag at an outlet store in the states. Sometimes I think she's thinks I'm someone else. It looks like I'm trying to look 21 (I'm clearly not). And it's too small.

A good diaper bag can be hard to find. Good luck!

  5. It's gorgeous! But $400?! No thanks...

SIGH, at least we'll always have the picture. :)

Good luck on the continued hunt!

  6. Cha-CHING!That's ridiculous. I started looking for a diaper bag (or something that can function as one) months ago because I know it's going to be crazy difficult.
I started on Amazon and they have something like over 2000! If I find anything cute I'll send the info your way.

  7. Can I recommend this: http://www.skiphop.com/product/202000.html

I still have a regular diaper bag, although I'm going to have to trade up to a larger size. I like that product, though, it was a gift from a friend, and I was almost considering buying a non-diaper bag and just using that. The only thing is that many diaper bags (from Skip Hop anyway) attach to the stroller, which another bag wouldn't do.

Just a thought! I too am appalled by the prices of diaper bags.

  8. Lovely bag! But yeah, I wouldn't spend $400 on a bag. I found some cute sporty looking ones on Target.com that my husband wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen carrying, I think I might go that route.

Hobbits are social creatures, and love hearing from friends old and new. Pull up a comfy chair and let's get to know one another.
