The Celebratory Society!

Good Morning Humble Readers!

The consistently amazing Mel at Stirrup Queens has come up with a fabulous new project... The Celebratory Society.

A take on a festschrift, this is an opportunity for us all to say (and hear) the things that we should say, but rarely do.  A time to offer encouragement, a word of thanks.  The best way to describe it is in Mel's words... "what do I propose? Nothing short of an informal online festschrift discussing your emotional achievements, your writing prowess, the way you’ve touched another person. Done in a kind, orderly way."  In other words, it's a chance to celebrate each other.  And this is my open post for the Celebratory Society...

To sign up, learn more, or to see who else is participating, swing over to Mel's.  I hope you will all join the Celebratory Society... I look forward to celebrating you all!

  1. Oh Mrs. G! You have been one of my readers and commentators for a long time, and how glad you make me when I see your name in my email! :) You always have such awesome support and words for me, and with your writing!! I love coming over to read what you're up to lately. It's like getting an email from a buddy - that's how you read. :) You're positive attitude, even in the rants, I love. Thank you for being in my bloggy life. :) (omgosh, did I do overkill on the smileys?)

  3. I'm not sure why, but I always associate meeting you with after the recent election. I think that is when I first found your blog. I think the first thing I love about this space is that you are greeted by love the moment the blog fills the screen with that wedding picture. It sets a tone. I am so thrilled for you that you are nearing the second trimester. And wait to hear about the little Hobbit :-)

  7. I, too, look forward to your menus and cooking pics.

For some reason, that has only partially to do with your screen-name, I always imagine you greeting us at your round Hobbit-door, offering us a fresh cup of tea and homemade goodies, and sweeping the floor with your willow-twig broom while regaling us in a quiet voice the daily goings-on.

Your blog is a well-ordered, tidy, and welcoming place to visit.

  11. Let's see if I can play along...
Even when you're down there's a spark of hope in your blog. You're always supportive and were willing to reach out and talk to me about subjects many people avoid. I often think of you when I come up with a question, I forget it by the time I get here but that's a different story. You have a zest for life that is unique to you. I'm glad I found your hobbit hole. : )

Hobbits are social creatures, and love hearing from friends old and new. Pull up a comfy chair and let's get to know one another.
