Good Morning Humble Readers!
The consistently amazing Mel at Stirrup Queens has come up with a fabulous new project... The Celebratory Society.
A take on a festschrift, this is an opportunity for us all to say (and hear) the things that we should say, but rarely do. A time to offer encouragement, a word of thanks. The best way to describe it is in Mel's words... "what do I propose? Nothing short of an informal online festschrift discussing your emotional achievements, your writing prowess, the way you’ve touched another person. Done in a kind, orderly way." In other words, it's a chance to celebrate each other. And this is my open post for the Celebratory Society...
To sign up, learn more, or to see who else is participating, swing over to Mel's. I hope you will all join the Celebratory Society... I look forward to celebrating you all!
While I might not be a hobbit genetically, I do believe that I am one culturally. A homebody at heart, with a fear of (but slight craving for) adventure, who values simple things like good food, good books, and good friends. Chronicling the journey of the unlikely pairing of a Hobbit and an Ent, who have travelled down the road through infertility & RPL, toward building our family. We've come a long way, and now with two precious wee-lings in tow, our road goes ever on and on...
Oh Mrs. G! You have been one of my readers and commentators for a long time, and how glad you make me when I see your name in my email! :) You always have such awesome support and words for me, and with your writing!! I love coming over to read what you're up to lately. It's like getting an email from a buddy - that's how you read. :) You're positive attitude, even in the rants, I love. Thank you for being in my bloggy life. :) (omgosh, did I do overkill on the smileys?)
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your blog. Red is my favorite color. Congrats on your pregnancy and I really do mean that. People like you, who make it,,,GIVE ME HOPE! and it is something I desperately need. Sending hugs and many prayers and wishes for a smooth and uneventful pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why, but I always associate meeting you with after the recent election. I think that is when I first found your blog. I think the first thing I love about this space is that you are greeted by love the moment the blog fills the screen with that wedding picture. It sets a tone. I am so thrilled for you that you are nearing the second trimester. And wait to hear about the little Hobbit :-)
ReplyDeleteMrs. G, Mrs. G, Mrs. G. What can I say. Good morning/evening humble readers... that is what I love at first about your posts. Your cooking skills are so fun to read and your pregnancy is something we all celebrate. You are such a great online friend and I am so thankful I "met" you.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful cook and my mouth waters every time I see the wonderful photos of your work! I mean, what you did for your anniverary--you thought it was "simple"--I thought it was awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd, hey, you have Hobbit in your title--can't go wrong there, eh?!
OMG!!! I was so quick to tell you about your cooking skills, I did not read the comments and realize you are PG!!! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteI, too, look forward to your menus and cooking pics.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, that has only partially to do with your screen-name, I always imagine you greeting us at your round Hobbit-door, offering us a fresh cup of tea and homemade goodies, and sweeping the floor with your willow-twig broom while regaling us in a quiet voice the daily goings-on.
Your blog is a well-ordered, tidy, and welcoming place to visit.
Mrs. G - I adore you and your blog. Your honesty and openness is uber-refreshing. And, as has been mentioned before, your pregnancy gives the rest of us hope!!! Plus, how can I not love anything to do with LOTR :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is always so incredibly welcoming, whenever I come here I can't help but think, I don't even need to meet you IRL to know what you are like.. You are a wonderful person with a huge heart and that really comes across here. Thanks for the friendship!!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much I love about you. I'm not sure where to start. You are smart and witty and all around great. I adore your love of reading and your unflagging support of your friends. You totally rock and I am so happy I get to celebrate this pregnancy with you. Thank you for being my friend.
ReplyDeleteLet's see if I can play along...
ReplyDeleteEven when you're down there's a spark of hope in your blog. You're always supportive and were willing to reach out and talk to me about subjects many people avoid. I often think of you when I come up with a question, I forget it by the time I get here but that's a different story. You have a zest for life that is unique to you. I'm glad I found your hobbit hole. : )
