Hey Humble Readers!
I should probably save this for my weekly update, but in the spirit of the up and down nature of my day I wanted to mention a couple of things.
First up, I think I have had my first Braxton Hicks contractions. It actually woke me up from a nap. My stomach went really rigid and then relaxed. It repeated a few times, and then afterward I had what felt like a stitch in my side for a couple of hours. The Halfling was really active through all of it. Totally crazy!
Second... it appears that my Beloved is dealing with some pregnancy sympathy pains. He's had a lot of charlie horse types of cramps in his legs. I know that some men get the nausea or the weight gain. But I have to admit this is kind of funny. Not that him being in pain is funny, but really, with everything that I've had to deal with in the last few months, it does make me smile just a little to know that I'm not in this alone.
While I might not be a hobbit genetically, I do believe that I am one culturally. A homebody at heart, with a fear of (but slight craving for) adventure, who values simple things like good food, good books, and good friends. Chronicling the journey of the unlikely pairing of a Hobbit and an Ent, who have travelled down the road through infertility & RPL, toward building our family. We've come a long way, and now with two precious wee-lings in tow, our road goes ever on and on...
Only because my hubby suffers from severe back pain do I feel even with him. LOL. How do the contractions feel???
ReplyDeletehope you are doing all right. your first box arrived last night.
ReplyDeleteBH contractions - fun! I had mine for at least three months. I don't know if everyone feels this way, but I found them exhausting. At the end of the day, I felt like I had taken a hike even if I sat on my butt all day.
ReplyDeleteYup, definitely a BH. The funny thing is I wouldn't feel BH's but I could watch them happen.
ReplyDeleteMy husband took the weight gain but I've kept the Charlie horses. They've been especially annoying the last few nights.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've had any BH's yet. I've had moments where my belly is super-hard but I don't feel any pain or anything. Is it strange that I want to have a "preview" of what a real contraction feels like? Anything to give me any idea of what to expect?
Yay! A BH!! You are so close now :)
ReplyDeleteI feel a little sympathy for your beloved-but reserve the most for you!!
hope you had a great birthday weekend! Both of your boxes have arrived, so let me know what you want to do.
