Kristin, over at the Dragondreamer's Lair had a wonderful post today about defining who we are outside the tunnel vision of infertility. I highly recommend you pop over and read her list of who she is... after you are done reading mine of course! ;)
I am:
- a wife (for 3 years, with my Beloved for 4)
- a mother-to-be... come November
- a mother to two angel babies (Emily Hope and Olivia Noelle)
- a daughter/granddaughter, sister, aunt (in many forms - step, foster, bio, in-law)
- an infertile
- a bookseller
- a book-lover
- a wanna-be amateur photographer
- a daydreamer
- a lousy housekeeper
- a pretty darn good cook
- a Believer, of the Lutheran persuasion
- a St.ar.bu.cks junkie
- a self-proclaimed sci-fi/fantasy geek
- a fairly decent cross-stitcher (when I focus)
- a dyslexic
- an unpublished author
- a nag (not one of my better traits)
- a procrastinator
- an ornithophobe
- a cry baby (tv, movies, books, sappy commercials)
- a dog-lover
- a school-supply addict
- a friend

Oh Kristin is so amazing, I am going over now.
ReplyDeleteI am a loser, a mommy to be, God Willing and an awesome cook too.
Oh congrats on seeing your heartbeat, isn't it THE most amazzing thing ever? So happy for you!
Happy iclw girl.
Cool!! I may try this too!
ReplyDeleteHi, I actually put a list over there on Dragondreamer's Lair also (well, paragraph style). I love this exercise also because it just goes to show us how much of ourselves we totally forget about while we're dealing with whatever pains us. My issues were always depression and mother (oh, how classic) and I literally lost years and years and YEARS focusing on that.
ReplyDeleteThere are so MANY great things about you! I love that you say "Lousy housekeeper" like it's something to be proud of. I've come to terms with that one, too! Photographer (whatever the status), author (whatever the status), FRIEND - these are all things to be so proud of!
I'm some of those and some not. Congrats for November! Great blog, can't wait to read more. I'm your newest follower from IComLeavWe.

ReplyDeleteIts so hard to know who I am outside of IF and loss and now pregnancy. I hope once baby is here I will better remember again. this is a good exercise though!

You are a great wealth of many things. The thing I am most excited about is the mother-to-be! Congrats! That is such wonderful news. :D I am so happy for you.
