Good Evening Humble Readers!
Just a quick post tonight...
Do you recall when I was yammering on about the fund raising we were doing at work for a local school's library?
Well, tonight the principal, librarian, and some helpers came in and spent two hours on a shopping spree. We got to help them spend more than $3500. They still have a bit left to spend, but they were rather overwhelmed with all that they had already purchased.
It was so much fun! I love the idea of all those kids getting have all these new books to explore.
It was great to have a local impact...
It was a good day.
While I might not be a hobbit genetically, I do believe that I am one culturally. A homebody at heart, with a fear of (but slight craving for) adventure, who values simple things like good food, good books, and good friends. Chronicling the journey of the unlikely pairing of a Hobbit and an Ent, who have travelled down the road through infertility & RPL, toward building our family. We've come a long way, and now with two precious wee-lings in tow, our road goes ever on and on...
Congrats! That is amazing!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great event. I love your introduction about being Hobbit-like.

ReplyDeleteICLW - though I know your ICLW post is below...
ReplyDeleteThat is thrilling! As a mom of toddlers whose town library is only open one day a week, with old and decrepit books...
I truly appreciate this amazing post.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Spending money on books sounds like heaven to me. What a great day!
