Close to Home

Well, my Beloved has just come home for lunch and has announced that a co-worker has been diagnosed with H1N1.

The vaccine is available starting today in our little city. I guess we'll be up early tomorrow and in line.

*sigh*

Better safe than sorry, I guess.

**Update** It turns out that our doc's office doesn't have the vaccine yet, so we have to get it at a public clinic. The next one is on the 29th and then on November 3rd.

  3. Yes, definitely better safe than sorry! And get some hand sanitizer! I am normally not someone who believes in sanitizing everything in sight, but when my hubby was sick recently, I think it's what saved me from getting sick, too.

  7. I hope you guys get the shot before you get the flu! At the school district where my DH's aunt works, 70% of the kids had H1N1! They actually closed the school for three days. Scary. I am dying to get the shot, but it's not really available yet.

  9. Hopefully you'll be able to get the vaccine in time to prevent H1N1 - it's a bugger... my mom had it - we kept our distance for a few weeks while she was conagious... I hope you don't end up with it too!

  12. My dad showed symptoms 2 days after a visit, so far we've not shown any. Our neighbors have had it, our friends have had it and they figure the vaccine will make it to us after it's passed through. *shrug*

Good luck! I hope you can find the vax and not get the flu.

  13. Oh my goodness. I am commenting for you from Mel's "What bugs you" post. Um, so I have tried THREE time to make this post...and it is kind of ironic b/c that is what happend on Mel's also. Argh. That really does bug me. :)

Good luck finding the H1N1 vaccine tomorrow!!! I hope you find it.

    Praying for your good health!

  14. Good luck getting the H1N1 vaccine. I've already gotten the H1N1 virus, so no shots for me... I guess there is an up side ;)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. FOr me the perfect chille relleno has to have the perfect balance of chile heat, cheese filling, and batter texture on the outside...and the perfect sauce on top to compliment it (that's the part my hubby has had a hard time replicating) Definately not the healthiest thing you can eat, but Oh so yummy!

  16. Scary! I tried all day yesterday just to get the regular flu shot, and they were out of that everywhere too...and our little guy is too young for the vaccine so I NEED to get it as his caregiver...ack!

  17. Kimbo--I suspect it stings less than a full blown case of H1N1. Good for you, Mrs. G, for planning to get the vaccine.

  18. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment! I just read your Q & A and I will have to agree with you on the middle eastern food and not because I'm middle eastern-if I do say so myself, my people know how to cook, lol! :)

I read your TTC history and I know first hand how much it hurts to lose a baby, so I just want to send you a big cyber hug for your losses!

  19. Grrr...stupid H1N1. And I hate how impossible it has been for everyone to track down this vaccine!! It's nuts.

Hobbits are social creatures, and love hearing from friends old and new. Pull up a comfy chair and let's get to know one another.
