The Book Challenge - 2009

Kristin over at Dragondreamer's Lair is hosting a reading challenge for 2009. I'm a little late jumping on the bandwagon, but I have tracked the books I've read since February (check out my monthly reading lists).

I tend to read primarily fiction, and lately a lot of teen fiction. I do enjoy a good biography from time to time.

My goal for 2009 is to read 100 books. It's going to be a stretch considering I'm averaging only five books a month right now, but I'm going to work on turning the tv off and spending more time reading.

So, here's my list so far...
I post my monthly reading lists (with reviews) at the end of each month. My to-read list is over there to the left.

  1. Sweet! Sounds like you have quite a year ahead of you!

Oh, also, I just bought The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring a couple of weeks ago...I think because I keep seeing the name of your blog in my reading list and it reminds me that I've always wanted to read them! LOL OOH, I also found an awesome blog layout for you...

Just thought it was neat, since you're all Hobbit-y and all! :)

  2. I think you will get to 100 easily! I should track my books, but never have hmmmm. I get a few great book ideas from lisening to NPR. I just read Hands of My Father. I thought it was great. easy read for a memior.

  3. Oooh! Nice goal...and great list!

Do you recommend the "Princess Diary" series? I've been thinking of reading them this summer. :)

  4. That's truly impressive!

    I am lucky if I can do 1 or 2 a month.

Did you join the book tour for The Land of IF? You can sign up now at SQ, and the tour will be at the end of June, I think.

  5. Woohooo...I am so glad you are joining in!

  6. I really liked Memoirs of a Geisha! What did you think?
Have you reas Snow Flower & the Secret Fan? Lisa See is the author and I just heard her talking about her new book on National Public Radio the other day, it sounded fascinating!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :-)

  7. What a great book list! You are off to a wonderful start. Although I love romance novels and wish you hadn't have spared us that title. :D

  8. I really wish I liked to read books. Good luck on your challenge!

Hobbits are social creatures, and love hearing from friends old and new. Pull up a comfy chair and let's get to know one another.
